meet the Fortunatos

Our family consists of four people. Lukas and Virginia, who met and married in 2016– meeting February 8th, getting engaged August 13th, and married on December 30th! Tabby made her arrival on December 19th, 2018 and Baby James who joined June 13th, 2021!

In July 2017, we said goodbye to a five year dream and allowed God to begin to shape the next chapter of our lives. We stood with open hearts, in excited anticipation, of our a new family dream which, career wise, began, as Lukas started a staff role at the Chick-fil-A Support Center April 2019. This new job gave us the blessed opportunity to move into the community we had longed to be geographically a part of since living in the area starting four days into our marriage. East Point, Georgia is now, finally, our home.

Virginia started blogging in March of 2010 and wrote on her personal, single lady blog for almost 7 years before switching to this blog as a married lady. As of 2020, she’s been able to claim the role of professional writer who loves to tell stories — both her own and others.

With Chick-fil-A, Lukas works as a Supply Chain consultant, supporting people who sell chicken all across the country. He travels for his role and says anytime he’s gone “I’m working my way home to you guys”. His day job is a fundraiser for his calling as an on stage communicator, which he can do in both English and Spanish!

Our family mission is: to be a beacon of hope for anyone who comes into contact with us. A testament to the Lord’s faithfulness in doing BIG things through broken people.

This vision is based on the beautiful words of Matthew 5:14-16…

“Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.” The Message

We hope, through this blog, you will hear the heart of Jesus in our words. We aren’t perfect. We acknowledge we are works in progress, dearly loved by the author of our Faith, who continues to refine us and make us into the people He needs us to be for the purpose He has called us to fulfill.

It’s humbling that you have taken time to read our story and our prayer is that you will see His faithfulness throughout it all.

Blessings, The Fortunatos
